El Dorado Hills Firefighters' Association is now accepting scholarship applications for 2016.  The eligibility list and application can be found on the Scholarship webpage.  The application deadline is Friday, April 8, 2016 @ 4:00 p.m.  Your questions can be directed to Ms. Christina Burroughs at (916) 933-6623 ext. 1010 or via email.

El Dorado County Environmental Management now has a Household Hazardous Waste hotline that you can call for status of recycling centers.  The hotline number is (530) 295-4100 and is updated frequently to state whether or not collection sites will be opened or cancelled.

Sand, shovels and bags are available and can be filled at each of the following Fire Stations in El Dorado Hills: Station 85 (1050 Wilson Blvd.), and Station 86 (3670 Bass Lake Rd.).  If you have questions, please call the Administrative Office at (916) 933-6623.

Based on the current weather forecast, we will begin the Santa Run 30 minutes (or so) early tonight. This will allow Santa to potentially get to each Santa Stop tonight and would put each stop approximately 30 minutes earlier than what the map states.

This is our 52nd year of bringing Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the EDHFA elves to El Dorado Hills. The Santa Run started in 1963 and we have not missed one since. Your elves are all volunteers from the El Dorado Hills Firefighters Association (EDHFA). The EDHFA is made up of both volunteer and career Firefighters and Administration. We are honored to keep this tradition alive and thriving in the community of El Dorado Hills.

The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community.  Toys for Tots boxes are now available at all 5 of our fire stations. Thank you for your donations!

When American flags are faded or tattered, residents often bring them to the fire stations be be properly retired. Alaina and Carina Baxter, 14-year-old twins presented the El Dorado Hills Fire Department with a beautiful, handmade American Flag Case to house these retired flags.  The sisters completed this flag case as their Girl Scout Silver Project and they are teaching young people and adults the importance of retiring the American flag properly.  The twins say “It shows respect for our country.”
