GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

The El Dorado Hills Fire Department (El Dorado Hills County Water District), has been honored with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022. This award represents the pinnacle of recognition in the realm of governmental accounting and financial reporting for municipalities. 

An impartial panel evaluated the report, highlighting its embodiment of a transparent and comprehensive disclosure ethos. This approach not only delineates the financial narrative of the Department but also encourages a broader engagement with the report by various stakeholders. Such transparency is essential, particularly in the budgeting process, to ensure the El Dorado Hills community is well-informed about the origins and allocation of the Department's funds. 

Published annually, the comprehensive financial report aims to surpass the basic requirements of generally accepted accounting principles. It offers a detailed view of the Department’s financial operations and position, augmented by statistical and analytical insights. This comprehensive report is a testament to the diligent efforts of key personnel, including Chief Financial Officer Jessica Braddock and Accounting Specialist Megan Selling, whose dedication and hard work are integral to its successful compilation.
