Power Outage Press Release

El Dorado Hills, California (August 14, 2012) – PG&E is reporting a power outage that is currently affecting nearly 300 homes  in the Serrano area of El Dorado Hills may last all day.  Due to the extreme heat, the  El Dorado Hills Fire Department has set up cooling stations for residents affected by the power outages.  Residents can seek shelter from the heat at the following locations:

Fire Station 85 – 1050 Wilson Blvd.  (24 Hours)

El Dorado Hills CSD – 1021 Harvard Way (8 am – 5 pm)

EDH Senior Center – 990 Lassen Lane (9 am – 5 pm)

EDH Library – 7455 Silva Valley Parkway (12 pm – 5 pm)

Chief Dave Roberts stated, "We encourage all residents (especially the young and elderly who are more susceptible to extremes of temperature) to seek cooler environments and keep hydrated throughout the day.  If the power outage is prolonged, we will make arrangements to extend the hours of operation at the cooling centers.  We have also alerted the Red Cross and they are standing by if needed."
