"Our Mission: We, the El Dorado Hills Fire Department, exist to serve and protect the Community through emergency management."

EMS

El Dorado Hills Fire Department currently provides Basic and Advanced Life Support services at all four fire stations. We provide the community with fire protection and emergency medical services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The community is now served by ten engines, one air/light support unit, two water tenders, two medic units and one Quint (ladder truck.) Citizens receive rapid responses to both emergency and non-emergency calls for service.

Volunteer Firefighters represent our second line of defense by responding to emergencies that occur in our community. They donate their time, train to a high standard, and offer a great addition to our EMS operation.

Our Paramedic Firefighters provide the most extensive pre-hospital care. In addition to carrying out procedures of Basic Life Support(BLS), paramedics are responsible for performing Advanced Life Support (ALS). Some of their responsibilities are to administer drugs orally and intravenously, interpret electrocardiograms (EKGs), perform endotracheal intubations, relief of pneumothorax and use monitors and other complex equipment. Paramedics are personally responsible, legally, ethically and morally for each drug administered, for using correct precautions and techniques, observing and documenting the effects of the drugs administered, keeping abreast of all contraindications to administration of specific drugs to patients.

Our EMS Division is committed to education and quality assurance in order to best service the El Dorado Hills community.
