American Flag Retirement Case

When American flags are faded or tattered, residents often bring them to the fire stations be be properly retired. Alaina and Carina Baxter, 14-year-old twins presented the El Dorado Hills Fire Department with a beautiful, handmade American Flag Case to house these retired flags.  The sisters completed this flag case as their Girl Scout Silver Project and they are teaching young people and adults the importance of retiring the American flag properly.  The twins say “It shows respect for our country.”

Once the case is full, the sisters will pick up the flags and hold a ceremony to properly dispose of them.  Thank you Alaina and Carina for this beautiful and creative way for our EDH residents to properly retire American Flags. ‪#‎EDHFire‬ ‪#‎AmericanFlag‬
