Station 84 Redevelopment










EDHFD and the Board of Directors have been evaluating multiple options to repair or improve the deteriorating conditions of Station 84 (located on Francisco Drive).  It was decided by the Board of Directors to keep Station 84 at that location and to demolish the existing building and build a new station.  For more information, please see the attachments below.  If you have further questions, please contact Deputy Chief Jim O'Camb at (916) 933-6623 ext.13.

In honor of Sergeant Sky Mote

Flags are at Half Staff in honor of Sergeant Sky Mote who lost his life in the line of duty.  Staff Sergeant Mote will be returning to Northern California August 17, 2012 at approximately 1630hrs.  The El Dorado Hills Fire Department will honor Staff Sergeant Mote's sacrifice and the loss to his family by posting fire apparatus at the following locations during the period of time that Staff Sergeant Mote and family travel from McClellan Air Force Base to Green Valley Mortuary.

Power Outage in EDH

Approximately 300 homes are affected by a power outage in the El Dorado Hills community located southeast of Serrano and Silva Valley Parkway.  For residents that are affected by this outage, four Cooling Stations have been set up.  If you have any questions, please contact us at (916) 933-6623.

Fire Protection Fraud Awareness

The El Dorado Hills Fire Department would like the business owners of our community to be aware of fraudulent companies trying to service the fire protection equipment of their businesses. Local businesses have been victims of a uniformed citizens claiming to be Fire Department representatives who insist on conduction "Fire and Life Safety Inspections" or servicing fire protection systems unnecessarily and without proper credentials. These companies are billing business owners for alleged services provided and are aggressively and persistently trying to collect.  Read on...

Planeta Fire Press Release

On Sunday, July 22, El Dorado Hills Fire Department resources along with automatic aid resources from Cameron Park, Rescue, and CALFIRE were dispatched to a reported wildland fire initially reported to be on Guadalupe Drive in the heavily wooded urban-interface area of the Lakehills subdivision.  Subsequent reports identified this as a fully involved structure fire on Planeta Way with extension to the wildland.  Read more...

Santa Cruz Structure Fire Press Release

On August 8, 2012, the El Dorado Hills Fire Department received a dispatch for a landscape type fire off of Santa Cruz Court.  The homeowner called 911 after a family member reported the side yard was burning.  They later found that the roof was also burning.  Prior to EDHFD’s arrival, the incident was upgraded to a roof fire of the home.  Read more...

Power Outage Press Release

El Dorado Hills, California (August 14, 2012) – PG&E is reporting a power outage that is currently affecting nearly 300 homes  in the Serrano area of El Dorado Hills may last all day.  Due to the extreme heat, the  El Dorado Hills Fire Department has set up cooling stations for residents affected by the power outages.  Residents can seek shelter from the heat at the following locations:

Firefighting exercise takes over EDH neighborhood

BLM Mother Lode Office Announces Fire Restrictions

Effective June 11, 2012, the Bureau of Land Management is implementing fire restrictions on all BLM-managed public lands within the Mother Lode Field Office boundary.  This includes BLM-managed public lands in Nevada, Yuba, Placer, El Dorado, Amador, Sacramento, Calaveras, Tuolumne, Stanislaus, Sutter, and Mariposa counties, a total of about 230,000 acres.  The fire restrictions will remain in effect until further notice.  Read on...

Burn Permit Suspension July 2nd

Camino – All burn permits within the State Responsibility Area (SRA) in Amador County and on the western slope of El Dorado County will be suspended at 8 am Monday July 2nd. Unit Chief Kelly Keenan of the Amador-El Dorado Unit of CAL FIRE, has signed a proclamation suspending burn permits (LE-62a's, LE-5's). Chief Keenan adds "time is running out for you to be able to burn your four foot by four foot residential burn piles, so please take this opportunity to complete your burn projects now on permissive burn days. But if you feel it is unsafe to burn because of the conditions in your neighborhood (outdoor temperature, wind, terrain, etc.) hold off until the winter to complete your burning" cautions Chief Keenan who adds "recently we have responded to a number of fires caused by residential debris piles that have escaped the control of the landowner. We even responded to a fire caused by a golf cart driven into high, dry weeds, so everyone needs to be extremely cautious with everything they are doing that can cause a fire."  Read on...
