EDHFire is aware of a significant wind event which may affect our residents in the next several days. For safety purposes, PG&E may conduct a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) in our area. A Community Resource Center (CRC) is being placed at Rolling Hills Church (located at 800 White Rock Rd). The CRC is designed to provide customers a safe and energized location to meet basic power needs (i.e., charging cell phones and laptops and Wi-Fi access where possible), and provide up-to-date information in neighborhoods and communities when a PSPS event occurs.
Effective October 1st, 2019:The El Dorado Hills Fire Department (EDHFD) will be resuming all services related to residential fire sprinkler systems within the El Dorado Hills Fire District jurisdiction. This does not currently include the community of Rescue. Residential fire sprinkler systems shall be designed and installed in accordance with Section R313 of the California Residential Code (CRC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 13-D (Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems in One- and Two-Family Dwellings and Manufactured Homes, 2016 edition2), and all other applicable design standards required by the EDHFD Fire Code.
On September 16, 1965, the El Dorado Hills Fire Department suffered the line of duty death of Lieutenant Pete Bertelsen. Yesterday, members of the Bertelsen family and the El Dorado Hills Fire Department gathered at the Bertelsen Memorial Park to remember a hero. Lieutenant Pete Bertelsen, LODD September 16, 1965. Lost but never forgotten.

Chief Hall comes to us with 25 years of experience in the fire service, working through the ranks from Firefighter/Paramedic to Deputy Chief. He has been involved in fire-based EMS at the local, regional, and state level, where he currently sits as the President of the Cal Chiefs EMS Section. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Fire Science Administration, as well as a California State Fire Marshal – Chief Officer certification. Chief Hall is very excited and honored to become a part of our team and able to serve our great community and its amazing residents!
EDHFire is pleased to announce a new way for everyone to view the development that is currently planned or under construction in El Dorado Hills. This ArcGIS story map provides a unique and fun way for you to browse projects that are under way. Everything is color coded by stages of development and also includes a project summary on the right-hand side of the page for each project that you click on. We will be updating this story map as fast as we can to include all projects that are active, but for now, we will start with about 20 or so projects. EDHFire reminds you to be safe this Fourth of July! Remember that ALL Fireworks are ILLEGAL in El Dorado County. This includes fireworks listed as "Safe and Sane". Any person who uses, discharges, or possesses any fireworks is guilty of a misdemeanor.

Effective 6/17/19, burn permits for El Dorado County have been suspended for the remainder of fire season. This includes EDH Fire District areas of El Dorado Hills, Latrobe, and Rescue.
It was recently reported to us that there are individuals making phone calls posing as a local Fire Department representative soliciting funds to support our Fire Department. This is a SCAM. Please do NOT give any information or money to these individuals as they have no relation to our Fire Department. If you are contacted, please report the information to El Dorado Sheriff's Office at (530) 621-5655 or you can complete an online report at EDC Sheriff's Office.

Burn Permit Suspension Lifted for El Dorado County as of today, November 26th. If you own property in El Dorado Hills, you can visit any of our #EDHFire stations to get a burn permit.
