Burn Permit Suspension Lifted

Effective Monday, November 16th, CAL FIRE (AEU) has lifted their burn permit suspension throughout El Dorado County. Agricultural and residential burn permits can now resume burning on permissible burn days.  Burn permits are available online at https://burnpermit.fire.ca.gov/. Please note burn permits are no longer issued in person at our fire stations.

All burning must take place on a designated Burn Day. Please call (530) 621-5897 or toll free (866) 621-5897 immediately prior to igniting your pile for Burn Day status. You can also check the Air Quality Control website for burn day status.

The Community Risk Reduction Division (CRRD) has prepared the Information Bulletin below to assist the public in answering a few of the more frequently asked questions regarding how to obtain a permit and how to burn safely. If you have any questions, please contact our CRRD by calling (916) 933-6623, option 6.
