The El Dorado Hills Fire Department partnered with forty community representatives to establish a Strategic Plan. Understanding what the community expects of its fire and emergency service organization is critically important to developing a long-range perspective.
On November 13, 2012, the El Dorado Hills Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire on Reem Court. The occupant called 911 for smoke detector activation. El Dorado Hills Fire units responded along with assistance from El Dorado County Fire, El Dorado County Sheriff, and the City of Folsom Fire Department. El Dorado Hills Fire was the first to arrive and found the attic to be heavily involved in fire with smoke showing from the eaves. The occupants had evacuated prior to the arrival of fire units. Units were assigned to fire attack, vertical ventilation, and salvage/overhaul of the interior. As crews attempted to pull ceiling and attack the fire, the tile roof collapsed. All crews were then immediately accounted for as fire attack strategy was changed due to safety concerns. The attic fire was eventually extinguished with a majority of personal property successfully salvaged to the non-affected garage areas.
El Dorado Hills Firefighters partner with El Dorado Hills CSD and El Dorado County to preserve a Christmas Tradition for the community. For the past many years, El Dorado Hills Firefighters have decorated the "unofficial" community Christmas tree located at the El Dorado Hills Senior Center. The sparkling tree spread holiday joy to residents passing by in the evenings between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.

All RESIDENTIAL "DOORYARD" (FORM LE-62 a and b) BURNING PERMITS within State Responsibility Area and Local Responsibility Areas under contract to CAL FIRE will be SUSPENDED beginning 08:00 hours August 15, 2012. Previously issued "Dooryard" permits will no longer be valid.
EDHFD and the Board of Directors have been evaluating multiple options to repair or improve the deteriorating conditions of Station 84 (located on Francisco Drive). It was decided by the Board of Directors to keep Station 84 at that location and to demolish the existing building and build a new station. For more information, please see the attachments below. Flags are at Half Staff in honor of Sergeant Sky Mote who lost his life in the line of duty. Staff Sergeant Mote will be returning to Northern California August 17, 2012 at approximately 1630hrs. The El Dorado Hills Fire Department will honor Staff Sergeant Mote's sacrifice and the loss to his family by posting fire apparatus at the following locations during the period of time that Staff Sergeant Mote and family travel from McClellan Air Force Base to Green Valley Mortuary.
The Lakehills neighborhood, recently the location for the Multi-Agency Disaster Drill, formed a Fire Safe Council which is committed to reducing wildland fire danger within the community. Read more on Village Life website...
Approximately 300 homes are affected by a power outage in the El Dorado Hills community located southeast of Serrano and Silva Valley Parkway. For residents that are affected by this outage, four Cooling Stations have been set up. If you have any questions, please contact us at (916) 933-6623.
The El Dorado Hills Fire Department would like the business owners of our community to be aware of fraudulent companies trying to service the fire protection equipment of their businesses. Local businesses have been victims of a uniformed citizens claiming to be Fire Department representatives who insist on conduction "Fire and Life Safety Inspections" or servicing fire protection systems unnecessarily and without proper credentials. These companies are billing business owners for alleged services provided and are aggressively and persistently trying to collect. Read on...
On Sunday, July 22, El Dorado Hills Fire Department resources along with automatic aid resources from Cameron Park, Rescue, and CALFIRE were dispatched to a reported wildland fire initially reported to be on Guadalupe Drive in the heavily wooded urban-interface area of the Lakehills subdivision. Subsequent reports identified this as a fully involved structure fire on Planeta Way with extension to the wildland. Read more...
On August 8, 2012, the El Dorado Hills Fire Department received a dispatch for a landscape type fire off of Santa Cruz Court. The homeowner called 911 after a family member reported the side yard was burning. They later found that the roof was also burning. Prior to EDHFD’s arrival, the incident was upgraded to a roof fire of the home. Read more...

El Dorado Hills, California (August 14, 2012) – PG&E is reporting a power outage that is currently affecting nearly 300 homes in the Serrano area of El Dorado Hills may last all day. Due to the extreme heat, the El Dorado Hills Fire Department has set up cooling stations for residents affected by the power outages.
